Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of Finance Manager, the taxation officer is required to look after the entire taxation part of the organization and liaise with the relevant governmental authorities for taxation issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.   Enter and record the tax transactions in the financial system (QuickBooks) in order to ensure that Company’s financial records are maintained accurately and up-dated.

2.   Advice on tax rules ensuring businesses and assets are properly structured to minimize the incidence of taxation.

3.   Calculating tax liability, ensuring compliance is completed speedily and efficiently, and submitting tax returns and associated documents by the appropriate deadlines.

4.   Ensuring that tax withheld are deposited to Government within due time.

5.   Preparing monthly reports of taxes withheld (client’s).

6.   Filing relevant documents of taxes withheld and deposited to Government.

7.   Liaising with Ministry of Finance regarding any tax issue.

8.   Obtaining tax exemption certificates from concerned department of MoF for the new awarded projects.

9.   Keeping monthly record of individual staff’s salaries and taxes withheld (Client’s).

10. Preparing annual tax deduction certificates for individual staff members as Income tax of Afghanistan and ensuring that a copy of each certificate is submitted to Ministry of Finance within due time.

11. Providing clients with relevant documents to be submitted to Ministry of Finance for obtaining annual clearance.

12. Preparing and submitting to Ministry of Finance any other statement as may be announced by Income tax authorities from time to time.

13. Dealing with any other tax issue that may arise.

14. dealing with the government audits and preparing all the required documents to the government and stockholder audits.

15. Communicating and solving all the issues related of tax, custom duties, tariffs and transit fess with governmental related departments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting.
  • Advance knowledge of QuickBooks & Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Afghan Taxation Law.



  • Knowledge of Afghanistan financial systems will be an advantage.
  • Familiar with process of declaring tax in governmental authorities.
  • Ability to analyze financial information efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Afghan local languages as well as computer literacy.
  • Disciplined, honest and hard-worker.
