Scope of Work:
The Technical Coordinator is a member of the project Management team and is responsible for the technical aspects related to the implementation of the project. S/he is responsible for the overall quality of care, continuous quality development and all training programmes. S/he in close collaboration with Project Manager oversees planning, implementation, quality control, monitoring and supervision and ensures goals set in the work plan are met on time and according to available budget. In a supervisory role the Technical Coordinator is responsible for the staff in the unit. S/he assists Project Manager in all affairs related to the Health sector and responsible for the smooth running of all Health activities in the province.
Main Responsibilities:
Organize the health facilities in the province according to general guidelines policies and framework of the PPA.
Assist project manager in developing various reports, work plan and budget
To assist project manager in ensuring quality of the health activities in the province through regular technical follow-ups
To analyze and compile data and reports
To check and submit monthly progress reports for all health activities to project manager
To enhance the professional and managerial skills of the Health Unit staff at Provincial Health Unit
Responsible for the inter-provincial relocation and re staffing of the Health Facilities from abundant to underserved areas
Collaborate with Provincial Health Directorate and other locally active agencies to co-ordinate the Health activities
Responsible for recruitment of health personnel for different training activities
To regularly visit and supervise training centres, hospitals and clinics
To help trainers/supervisors in providing curricula for the training
Responsible for quality control of the medical equipment and material purchased
To arrange technical meetings with staff to solve upcoming problems in the field
Qualifications & Requirements:
Graduated from recognized university as a Medical Doctor
At least four years’ experience in health management and preferably extensive time in a managerial position within a NGO or UN organization
Sufficient responsible experience in project planning and management
Strong communication skills (written and spoken) of Pashto, Dari & English
Computer skills at operator level, especially with MS Office package
To have good supervisory, leadership, analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to take initiatives, and pursue work proactively without being intensively supervised
Solid knowledge of planning, budgeting and report writing
Familiar with design, evaluation and monitoring of health projects
Willing to stay and travel frequently inside the parts of Sar-e-Pul
To be an Afghan citizen
