Job Summary

Responsible for the coordination of all AKDN activities and the implementation of AKF (Afg)’s rural development and education program in their respective area.

Duties & Responsibilities


Strategic Development: Supporting the Technical Education Manager develop and implement project strategies.

Coordination and Facilitation: Supporting active communication and collaboration among partners on technical issues and approaches; Supporting the coordination and development of workplans, project evaluations and project implementation activities among partners, the PMU and other stakeholders; As necessary, providing facilitation support for technical working groups.

Reporting and Documentation: Supporting the PMU team develop high quality reports and documentation.

Research: Engaging in research to improve the implementation of the project and understand diverse approaches, methodologies and programming on all thematic aspects of the project.

Technical Support and Representation: Providing on-going technical support to PMU staff and partners to ensure coherent quality programming; As required, representing the PMU in relevant meetings with partners and other stakeholders.

Gender Equitable Programming: Support gender equitable programming on all aspects of the project, including the design, approach, work plans, staffing, monitoring, evaluation and research

Carry out additional duties to support the smooth operations and management of the PMU.

Provide written and verbal translations as needed

Any other duties relevant to this position’s core responsibilities and duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements


Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Development or other social sciences, with at least 3 years work experience in the education sector within the context of a government agency or non-governmental organization

Ability to respond effectively to deadlines and high pressure situations

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Dari and/or Pashto

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with the government, education service providers and civil society groups

Proven excellent interpersonal skills and working with a team

Strong analytical skills
