Searching for potential RFPs and drafting the proposal based on sepcific requirements of the RFP associated with any national/international donor
- Prepare management/technical proposal as per the available RFPs
- Ensure all bids are completed in a compliant and timely manner.
- Establish priorities to meet goals and objectives.
- Attend regular staff meetings to track progress on outstanding bids and assign or self perform new tasks as may be required. Work with subject-matter technical staff to gather technical information to persuasively respond to the RFP section requirements; coordinating with a variety of team members throughout the development of the proposal to ensure that the pursuit milestones are met.
- The effort necessary to produce and publish the proposals will require the adherence to a style guide and specification formatting requirements, proof reading and editing text to ensure good grammar, punctuation, syntax and synthesis of sections.
- The Technical Proposal Writer must be involved in several major proposal writing functions under supervision of senior technical. proposal writer such as:
a) Prepare Management and Technical Proposals according to the requirements of the RFPs.
b) Write, prepare and review the technical proposals and then submit them to the clients.
c) Ensure the best quality of proposals before submitting them to the clients.
d) Analyze and prepare logical plans for all aspects of project including Project Management Plan, Project Quality Management Plan, and Project Implementation Methodology.
- Writing the technical portions of business and construction proposals in response to RFPs issued by government and civil agencies.
- For smaller RFPs, taking complete ownership of the proposal and writing the entire response independently (including both the technical and project management portions of the proposal) for larger, more complex RFPs, working with a team of other proposal writers.
- Ensure all bids are completed in a compliant and timely manner.
- Research the web and other sources for getting the new RFPs.
- Attend performance evaluation and technical meetings. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key counterparts on client side.
- Work with proposal teams to develop responsive and competitive proposals
- University degree in Civil Engineering
- Excellent knowledge of English Language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Have 1 year technical proposal writing experience; Senior university students and those with less than 1 year experience can also apply
- Familiarity with US Army Corps of Engineers designs and technical requirements will be to the benefit of candidate
- Proficiency in using computer programs, minimum MS Office and AutoCAD
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate-Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and very tight deadline
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary to meet a proposal deadline
