Job Summary

The Technical writer/ GIS will be involve GIS Related work and in writing or editing technical materials, such as reports of research findings; scientific or technical articles; news releases and or technical subjects. Technical writer/ GIS draw on a substantial knowledge of particular research programs and activities to develop informational materials and to select and present information in a form and at a level suitable. These information materials may be for internal or external dissemination at the national and international levels, and may include internal reports and publications.

Duties & Responsibilities

The role of the GIS Technical Writer is to develop and maintain high-quality hard copy and electronic materials in support of OIEE-AESP program with ultimate client requirements and client satisfaction in mind.
The position will be a combination of independent writing projects and working with program staff to ensure that all materials are well conceptualized and written, published on time, and distributed effectively.
Tracking and delivery of contract deliverables working with the DCOP/COP.
Tracking and delivery of work-order deliverables working with Sector Leads.
Accurate, complete and timely submittals.
Develop, operate and optimize effective processes to accomplish work
Implement defined project policies, processes and procedures
Maintain electronic records
Provide quality control of deliverables
Participate in staff meeting and present last week activities.
Perform any other related tasks assign by the manager/ supervisor and management staff.

Job Requirements

University degree or diploma in related field.
At least three years work experience in relevant field, preferably with USAID projects, international donors, funded projects or NGOs in Afghanistan.
Knowledge about GIS and software.
Fluency in speaking and writing English, Pashto and Dari.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
To have computer knowledge specially office package.
Must be honest, well mannered, neat in appearance and healthy.
