Job Summary

A ticketing officer is responsible for selling tickets to passengers from various airlines, hotel booking, car renting, and package delivery all around the world. Ticketing officers not only handle the retail portion of selling a ticket but also deal with planning schedules for customers and helping them reach their destination via the best route and at the lowest cost. Ticketing agents must be familiar with schedules and be able to answer questions about travel times, connections and layovers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cold and warm calls to prospective leads
  • Answer all lead and customer questions accurately. Prioritize and/or escalate lead and customer questions as needed
  • Must be familiar with schedules and be able to answer questions about travel times, connections and layovers
  • Arrange reservations and routing for passengers at their request.
  • Plan route and compute ticket cost using schedules, rate books, and computers.
  • Deal with planning schedules for customers and help them reach their destination via the best route and at the lowest cost.
  • Confirm for hotels and apartments, and rent transportations for the customers
  • Inform leads and customers of current promotions and discounts
  • Informs travel agents in other locations of space reserved or available
  • Telephone customer or Ticket Agent to advise of changes with travel conveyance or to confirm the reservation
  • Sell and assemble tickets for transmittal or mailing to customers
  • Answer inquiries made to travel agencies or transportation firms, such as airlines
  • Determine whether space is available on travel dates requested by the customer
  • Help passengers who missed a flight or connection to re-schedule their travel plans and get them to their destination as quickly as possible
  • Send requests for services to the travel agent and provision of complete, accurate and timely information to the agent
  • Ensure payment of all invoices according to the terms and conditions of the Agreement(s)
  • Monitor and perform periodic reviews of the supplier’s performance, checking the quality of the services provided, fares, rates, etc.
  • Speak with dissatisfied customers or entertain high profile clients
  • Track all 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a reputable travel agency, out of which minimum 2 years in a customer service position
  • Have a wide range of customer information details for travel agency
  • Bachelor’s Degree in management or other relevant fields
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills
