Chemonics RAMP UP South, Multi Location
Under the direct supervision of and reporting to the GIS Specialist, the GPS Surveyor will work closely with RAMP UP South GIS Specialist, Kandahar Municipality Mayor Office and will be a member of the GPS Surveying team.
• Collect data using survey equipment (GPS).
• Calculate and process the collected survey data.
• • Prepare topographical maps, on the basis of survey data.
• Provide support to the GIS Team and conduct technical surveys for the aerial photography.
• Preparation of maps: project plans, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, etc.
• Plan works in advance to facilitate timely implementation.
• Perform other duties on request as assigned by the GIS Manager.
• • Must have an excellent experience of GPS, and other Field Survey equipments.
• Bachelor degree in a related field (Civil Engineer, or Survey Institute) is highly desirable.
• At least 5 years of work experience in project surveys and project planning is required.
• Must be able to download the GPS data, plot it in ArcMap.
• Be a team player and capable of working with others in a participatory method.
• Self motivated and having strong initiative skills.
• Must be fluent in English and both national languages.
• Must be able to use the survey equipments like Total Station, GPS , Level and other survey equipment.
• Must have a good computer software experience
• Perform any other tasks as directed by the RAMP UP South GIS Specialist or Component 3 Team Leader.
