Job Summary

The Trailer Driver Assistant assists in the delivery, packing, and pick-up of furniture, equipment, and materials to and from designated destinations. Check vehicle fluid levels, vehicle safety devices, lights, wiper blades, blinkers, and tire pressure. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery, packing, and pick-up of furniture, equipment, and materials to and from designated destinations.
  • Load and unload all delivery vehicles utilizing the use of pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Check vehicle fluid levels, vehicle safety devices, lights, wiper blades, blinkers, and tire pressure.
  • Maintain daily vehicle logs and observe safe driving habits and practices.
  • Deliver and pick up company supply material, parcel post, and other distributions as required.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace and clean inside all delivery vehicles regularly.
  • Report any malfunctions of material-handling equipment or damage to vehicles or delivered furniture or equipment to the supervisor immediately.
  • Assist with safe working habits and practices in the performance of pickups and delivery to assure that the job is done safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner to the customers’ satisfaction.
  • Perform related duties as required or assigned within the job classification.
  • Must wear uniform and safety shoes at all times.
  • Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
  • Must hold valid large Vehicles License.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Upholds integrity and honesty.
  • Willingness to travel to other provinces and work additional hours.
  • Adheres to company rules and policies.
