FHI 360 - USWDP Project, Multi Location
This is a senior position reporting to the Senior Program Officer Capacity Development. The Training Consultant will be responsible for a wide range of training, coaching & mentoring, providing technical support for the MoHE and Universities’ Capacity Development Managers and Key Trainers. S/he will work closely with the Capacity Development Managers and Key Trainers at the MoHE and targeted universities to evaluate training needs, assist in the design of programs and the preparation of curricula and training materials. This position will conduct training events based on Training Needs Assessment priorities and help Capacity Development Managers to develop their institutional capacity development plans.
1. Provide technical support to USWDP capacity development team in arranging Train the Trainer (ToT) workshops in Kabul.
2. Provide onsite coaching and mentoring to Key Trainers at the MoHE and targeted Kabul-based and provincial universities
3. Design and develop training materials, deliver workshops and update training materials as needed.
4. Provide technical assistance to Key Trainers at the MoHE and targeted universities to enable them to plan and deliver the training for the administrative staff of the respected institutions.
5. Work collaboratively with M&E to better analyze the USWDP training impact and provide training pertaining information to M&E;
6. Edit translated training materials and documents as necessary
7. Develop annual, quarterly and monthly training schedule, plans and reports, and communicate with all necessary USWDP, ministry and university departments.
8. Provide technical support to university capacity development managers and Key Trainers to plan and implement follow up sessions with the participants of workshops to make sure the concept transferred to them are implemented in practice.
9. Provide technical support to USWDP on the means to evaluate and strengthen the permanent institutional impact of training
1. At least five years related experience in facilitating training preferably in management;
2. Master’s degree in Management, Business Administration or Public Administration required;
3. Have expertise in the area of Admin, HR, Finance & Procurement
4. Training / work Experience with Public Sector is required.
5. Ability to write and verbally communicate proficiently in English, Dari and Pashtu
6. Experience with international development organizations or donor funded development projects is preferred.
7. Ability to organize and effectively follow through on multiple complex tasks.
8. Knowledge of Afghan culture, international norms of conduct, and the current political situation in Afghanistan
9. Prior international educational project experience preferred
10. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
11. Ability to work both independently and in teams.
12. Ability to travel to the provinces
