The Training Officer will report to the Capacity Building Manager, and will work closely with Advocacy Officers and Resource Center Assistants. The Training Officer will be mainly responsible for establishing of resource centers, organizing workshops, trainings, seminars, events, and meetings. The Training Officer is also responsively for developing training manuals, and various forms related to trainings. The training officer will have highly developed communication and time management skills, along with the ability to develop and deliver training material in an effective and engaging manner.
The main duties and responsibilities of the researcher are as following:
1. Establishing the Resource Centers
To Establish resource centers in 4 regions with direct supervision of Capacity Building Manager;
To Ensure that the resource centers are well equipped, operated, maintained and functioned;
2. Organizing Trainings / Workshop
To conduct all training/workshops/events/meetings undertaken;
To provide high quality professional training courses and materials;
To maintain effective communication with CSOs, government officials, Local Communities and other stakeholders to establish training needs;
To evaluate the effectiveness of training and modify materials as appropriate;
To develop and maintain training materials to the highest standards for internal and external courses;
To acquire feedback on the courses needed for future planning/management information;
To ensure that training requirements are adequately specified and documented;
To identify personal training and development needs;
To identify appropriate venue for organizing the workshops/events;
To ensure that all the training materials are developed, printed and arranged;
To assist the training experts and ACU/TAW team to develop the training packages, including methodologies, procedures and modality for effective trainings related to anti-corruption, social accountability, and access to information elements for strengthening CSOs capacity;
To coordinate with Resource Center Assistants in collecting data and resources on related issues to be shared with CSOs;
To track event calendar, advocacy plan and monthly work plan regularly in order to do the initial preparation to organize/conduct training/workshop/event;
To improve the quality of training system;
Coordinate and assess new and existing employees undertaking relevant training programs
Source relevant external training and training providers, or training solutions for IWA staff and stakeholders
Actively participate in training sessions;
Education
At least a Bachelor degree in Education, sociology, public policy or public administration,
Experience
At least 3 to 5 years of work experience in the field of education, training and capacity building;
Experience in training needs analysis, training design and development and training delivery is essential;
Previous experience in a training role;
Ability to develop and deliver training material to a diverse audience;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Excellent writing and computer skills;
Excellent oral communication in local languages as well as English language;
Strong IT Skills;
Demonstrated understanding and preparedness to commit to the organization’s values;
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to all levels of the organization;
A willingness and capacity to become better equipped to perform job responsibilities by transferring new knowledge and skills gained through training to the workplace;
