Job Summary

The main role of the translator is to ensure an authentic, effective, and timely translation of different types of official letters, documents, website material, and online contents as per the AOGC policy and guidelines.  

Duties & Responsibilities

●      Translating all types of documents and online contents from English to Dari and Pashto, as well as vice versa in a high quality, easily understandable, and accurate manner;

●      Translating all type of text within a document including the text contained inside the figures, tables, boxes, captions, sources, and covers;

●      Incorporating the suggested changes by AOGC to the translations;

●      Following the ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information;

●      Using accurate and appropriate technical terms and terminologies in the translations;

●      Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the entire document before submitting it to the related departments at AOGC;

●      Translating all data, documents, proposals, plans, and procedures as per the AOGC policy;

●      Assist in compiling and analyzing the accumulated contents and creating new contents;

●      Assist the staff in accomplishing other relevant tasks when assigned by AOGC;

●      Meeting the agreed deadlines for submitting the translated documents and other assigned tasks

Job Requirements

●      A bachelor’s degree in English language from a recognized university;

●      An additional degree in business studies or in social sciences will be a plus;

●      An in-depth knowledge and professional level expertise in English, Dari, and Pashto languages;.

●      A minimum of 4 years work experience in the translator role within a professional setup;

●      Demonstrated experience and proven track record in translating professional documents;

●      Proficient in fast and accurate typing on the computer;

●      Proficient in the relevant IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT etc.).
