About World Vision International Afghanistan

Job Summary

- To provide a wide range of expedient support services for World Vision International/Afghanistan in transportation and maintenance of vehicles and Generator.
- To ensure that World Vision International/Afghanistan\'s fleet of vehicles and equipment are mechanically maintained in a manner that will provide reliable transportation and for World Vision goods, assets and staff.
- To assist maintain inventory of spare parts and assist in procurement of replacements in a timely manner. To assist provide reports on fleet and maintenance of vehicle and ensure all errands are carried out in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.Field Transportation management

Ensure that all commodities transported by WV vehicles are duly recorded in the VVV transportation records books.

Assist to coordinate the hiring of vehicles [cars and trucks] for programs by following the WV procedures.

Prepare the transport payments accordingly and submit to CTS for review.

Prepare the Loss claims against the third party.

Ensure that all commodity convoys accordingly and update security as well as management. Coordinate warehouse activities (receiving and issuance of goods).
2. Fleet Management:

Managing vehicles day to day movements

Manage the fleet within budget. Prepare requisitions for spare parts and maintain an appropriate level of spares at the project site.

Provide technical input including mechanical repair for vehicles, motorcycles, and all equipment.

Ensure copies of documentation preparing to vehicles/motorcycles services/maintenance are kept in the individual files for each vehicle and motorcycle

Ensure all accidents damaged vehicles and motorcycles are repaired and the necessary quotations sourced.

Develop appropriate preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles, motorcycles and ensure strict adherence to these procedures

Maintain service records on all vehicle/motorcycle and driving records on all drivers

Ensure that proper vehicle management policies are followed
3.Generators management:
1. Manage the generator for good working
2. Generator maintenance
3. Keep the generators Clean all time
4. Ensure copies of documentation is maintained in the individual files
5.Provide technical input including mechanical repair for Generators
4.Compliance and Reporting:
1.Providing the fallowing monthly Report on bees
2. Fuel Report
3. Maintenance Report
4. Vehicle License Expiry date Report
5. Driver’s License Expiry date Report
6. Transport Asset Report

Job Requirements


Graduated certificate from Technical Institute in Mechanic and/or driving.Knowledge & Skills.

Valid driver\'s license for a minimum of 5 years.

Ability to drive in very difficult terrain (roads).

Knowledge of car mechanics (preferable with a certificate in car maintenance).

Able to analyze security situation in advance and work close with security officer on security matters.

Good networking skills with Afghan, Army and police, especially in QIN (Qala-e Now) province.

Thorough knowledge of the road systems in the country and area of work.

Able to manage communicating in English.

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Lotus Notes will be an advantage.

Ability to maintain a high standard of personal appearance

Ability to work in a cross-cultural and multi-religious environment with multi-national staff.

Ability to prioritize work in relation to need and urgency.

A working knowledge of fax machine, photocopier and telephone will be an advantage. Must maintain a high standard of personal conduct and appearance.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in driving and maintenance of vehicles.

Ability to drive in very difficult roads, Valid driver\'s license, Knowledge of car mechanics,
Able to analyze security situation in advance.
