The Transportation Officer will work under direct supervision Operation Manager of MAIL. S/he will be closely working with the MAIL Transportation Manager to manage, oversee and coordinate all the day today activities of the transportation department of the MAIL.
• Coach and mentor of the MAIL transportation civil servant staff to managetheir routine tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Manage and oversee the Vehicles to be used properly by drivers and for official purposes.
• Work in close collaboration to devise for improvement of the MAIL workshop.
• Coordinate with different directorates within MAIL for better arrangement of the existing assigned vehicles and report to the Admin Director and Operation Manager.
• Pay regular attention to the maintenance system of the vehicles.
• Prepare the transportation policy and procedures
• Prepare, follow up and truck the Vehicle logbooks
• Prepare and manage the driver working schedules
• Ensure all the vehicles permits and licenses are up to date
• Manage the Fuel and Oil of the vehicles.
• Transport officer will be responsible for the personnel management of a Transport Section
• Ensures that MAIL vehicles are used in accordance with government rules and regulations and that vehicle usage data is correctly recorded
• Any other related tasks as assigned from respective supervisors
• University degree, (Bachelor’s minimum) is required in Public Administration or Business Administration.
• At least 3 years of experience in transportation management with large and international NGOs
• Experience with Afghan Government in Transportation Management is preferred.
• Ability to coach and mentor the MAIL civil servant staff on Transportation Management.
• Have a flexible work style and work late.
• Excellent English, Dari and Pashto communication skills required.
• Proficient in MS Office and internet applications are required.
