Job Summary

Under the Direct Supervision of UT NDT Subject Matter Expert, Ultrasonic (UT) Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Assistantis responsible for the functions related to
Assisting in analyzing technical problems and exercise professional judgment. Assist in providing concise justification for decisions & record salient information. Objectively assess quality of advice & decisions once facts are established,
Assist in defining Best Practice based on a wide understanding of internal and external practices.
Assist in representing the area of responsibility as the authority in the defined subject.

Duties & Responsibilities


Assist in analyzing technical problems and exercise professional judgment.

Assist in providing concise justification for decisions & record salient information.

Assist in defining Best Practice based on a wide understanding of internal and external practices

Assist in representing the area of responsibility as the authority in the defined subject

Assist in Defining skill and professional knowledge requirements to support the area of specialism. Identify, co-ordinate & deliver appropriate training to satisfy skill and knowledge requirements

Assist in Examining structures or vehicles such as pipelines using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.


Assist in making radiographic images to detect flaws in objects while leaving objects intact.


Assist in identifying defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques.

Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements


Bachelor Degree in relevant field

A minimum of 2 years’ operating and analyzing performing UT NDT of butt welds on high-pressure pipelines.

Ability to read construction drawings and plans

Good organizational skills

Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

Specific experience in Phased Array

Identify and define technical and administrative problems, identify and evaluate alternative solutions, and select and implement the best alternative

Apply principles of sound design and construction practices

Prepare plan correction reports

Use computer software to develop engineering and mathematical analysis for a wide variety of design problems

Review proposed projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Prepare and check engineering designs, details, estimates, plans, and specifications

Communicate effectively in oral and written form
