Under the Direct Supervision of NPPSM Provincial Manager, UT NDT Subject Matter Expertis responsible for the functions related toinitially, working onsite on a daily basis with the Afghan Gas personnel to perform UT inspection, demonstrate, set up and teach all aspects of UT PA NDT specific to the General Electric USM Vision supplied by TFBSO to Afghan Gas.Teach and ensure that all personnel and visitors follow basic safety procedures as applicable to UT, Provide checklists and procedures that allow Afghan Gas technicians to accurately collect and electronically store UT data consistent with industry best practices
Initially, working onsite on a daily basis with the Afghan Gas personnel to perform UT inspection, demonstrate, set up and teach all aspects of UT PA NDT specific to the General Electric USM Vision supplied by TFBSO to Afghan Gas.
Teach and ensure that all personnel and visitors follow basic safety procedures as applicable to UT
Provide checklists and procedures that allow Afghan Gas technicians to accurately collect and electronically store UT data consistent with industry best practices
Once Afghan Gas is able to collect and store UT data on the USM Vision, SME will be available to electronically receive, process/analyze, and complete a report with recommended remedial action, if required, specific to each joint welded. This report shall be sent to the AGSO at MoMP or AGE within 24 hours of receipt or sooner as production dictates
Develop and deliver UT PA welding procedures to AGE based on API 1104 and tailored to meet the current capabilities of Afghan Gas welders
Report progress and issues on a daily basis to AGSO at MoMP and AGE.
Bachelor Degree in relevant field
A minimum of 7years’ operating and analyzing performing UT NDT of butt welds on high-pressure pipelines Experience.
Ability to read construction drawings and plans
Experience with overseas assignments preferably in remote areas is preferred.
Good organizational skills
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Must have the demonstrated ability to work well with others of differing cultures
Knowledge of welding and inspection codes related to pipeline and station construction, specifically API 1104
Certified as a UT Level II or III Analyst. (Level III is preferred)
Specific experience in Phased Array
Experience in setting up, calibrating, training and drafting of procedures for UT Phased Array NDT
Good leadership, communication and inter-personal skills, with demonstrable ability to motivate others.
Fluent in English.
Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office.
Identify and define technical and administrative problems, identify and evaluate alternative solutions, and select and implement the best alternative
Prepare plan correction reports
Review proposed projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Communicate effectively in oral and written form
