Job Summary

The veterinary doctor should have a good knowledge of poultry sector and will be able to work and coordinate with private and public entities working in this sector. The VD should be able to design and deliver training on poultry sector in close coordination with MAIL, UN and USAID. The VD should have sufficient knowledge of poultry market in Afghanistan and the region.

Duties & Responsibilities

Should have thorough knowledge of Afghanistan poultry sector.

Should be well versed with private & government poultry business in different province of Afghanistan.

Having knowledge of Ministry & Agriculture, Afghanistan operated poultry training programs with the help of United Nations & US AID in different province of Afghanistan.

Should have information about import of poultry in Afghanistan & its impact on local market & consumer.

Understanding of epidemiology of Afghanistan considering neighbor countries poultry business & their economic threats to their local poultry i.e. recent viral outbreaks & their eradication.

Role of neighbor countries in Afghanistan poultry.

Knowledge of handling broilers, layers & breeders.

Knowledge of different feed types & raw material use in poultry feed & their nutritional facts.

Knowledge of vaccines & their application.

Should know the management of broilers & layers in rural background.

Should know how to optimize the production of broilers & eggs in different climatic condition of Afghanistan & challenges in rural poultry triggered troubleshooting.

Having training experience in rural poultry would be an added advantage.

Job Requirements

Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Master degree will be preferred.
