• Ability to analyze and identify the problems and constraints of the rural communities in Dehsabz and Barikab
• Close work with community members and relevant stakeholders in the field to identify the problems of the villages
• Collect necessary data and information on community needs
• Maintain close relationship with community members and relevant stakeholders to facilitated the projects progress
• Mobilize the communities of villages in Dehsabz and barikab to have their support in project planning and implementation
• Monitor and evaluate the projects during the work progress and after project completion
• Data collection on main infrastructures available within and outside the villages especially karezes and other underground resource water
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders of the Dehsabz Villages projects
• Help the Village Development Manager to formulate a strategic development plan on development of agriculture and establishment of sustainable farming systems in villages
• Collect data to identify the main public facilities and infrastructure required to be provided in existing villages for improvement of livelihood conditions
• Closely work with international agencies development team(s)
• Work closely with community bodies such as Community Development Councils (CDCs), District Development Assembly (DDA), Community Clusters, etc to have their support during project planning and implementation
• Take the role in formulating basic strategies to realize urban- rural complementary
• Ability to form working groups consisting of key stakeholders regarding the development of existing villages in Dehsabz and Barikab
• Take role in designing and formulating the survey framework for existing villages
• Ability to analyze poverty in the area, and identify causes and effects of poverty in rural communities of Dehsabz and Barikab area
• Prepare progress reports on projects in Villages of Dehsabz and Barikab
• Bachelor degree in Rural Development or Agriculture from a recognized university is required. Higher degree in the relevant fields will be an advantage.
• Have deep knowledge and skills of community development, poverty analysis, and agriculture.
• Good understating of challenges of local/rural development in Afghanistan
• Good understanding of rural development policies of the Government of Afghanistan formulated by Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) as well as Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL)
• Three years working experience with government or other agencies in areas of community development program, particularly related to the above duties and responsibilities
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently
• Good knowledge and skills in computer software particularly MS office.
• Fluency in Dari and Pashto is required. Knowledge and skill in English is an asset.
