About ACTIN AGAINST HUNGER (AAH)

Action Against Hunger (AAH) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was created in France in 1979. AAH has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, and water and sanitation fields since 1995.

Job Summary

Responsible for implementation of protection and care practices activities integrated with WASH and FSL Emergency Response teams in Ghor, Helmand, Dykundi, Bamyan and Nimroz provinces in Afghanistan.

Duties & Responsibilities

Objective 1: Collect and ensure accuracy and coherence of the data link with the assessment and monitoring of the activities

Activities:

Ø Good understanding of the different assessment questionnaires (Market, Households, displacement RAF)

Ø Initiate special assessment to identify the protection beneficiaries and WASH needs in the community level

Ø Realize the focus group discussions or household questionnaires respecting the planning and objectives defined by the ERM supervisor.

Ø Good understanding of the questionnaires and capacity to well explain them to the persons interviewed in order to ensure accurate and coherent answers.

Ø Give to ERM Supervisor complete, coherent and readable questionnaires in order to allow an accurate analysis of the data.

Ø Express recommendation to the ERM Supervisor in order to improve the assessment.

Ø Report issues, constraints met to the ERM Supervisor in order to capitalize them and avoid them in the future

 

Objective 2: Participate in the beneficiary targeting ensuring humanitarian and DO No Harm principles

 

Activities:

Ø Ensure that the beneficiaries are respecting the defined criteria of selection process,

Ø Ensure participation of community to select the protection Beneficiaries and WASH activities.

 

Objective 3: Participate to the distribution activities (cash, NFI, Hygiene kit, WASH and Protection support) ensuring DO No Harm principles

 

Activities:

Ø Ensure proper items distribution to disaster affected people targeted according to AAH protocols

Ø Ensure the beneficiary identity control during the distribution

Ø Ensure dignity of the beneficiaries in distribution points

Ø Ensure proper management of distribution center and ensure separate space for women beneficiaries

Ø Ensure the good filing of the beneficiaries Registration lists

Ø Suggest the possible improvement in terms of distribution


Objective 4: Ensure the beneficiary sensitization and awareness

 

Activities:

Ø Responsible to animate the beneficiary sensitization and awareness on Hygiene promotion

Ø Responsible to deliver trainings to community members on PFA etc.

Ø Ensure the beneficiary attendance at the sensitization and awareness

Ø Ensure the efficiency of the sensitization (relevancy of the messages, participative method, practical demonstration)

Ø Ensure the good filing of the beneficiaries Registration lists

 

 

Objective 5: Participate monitoring activity within the ERM project frame

Activities:

Ø Realize the post distribution survey NFI, Unconditional Cash Transfer, hygiene kits, WASH and Protection support

Ø Ensure the quality, the coherence and the exhaustiveness of completed questionnaires (PDM, PCDM KAP, displacement, market, Households) before to give them to the ERM Supervisor for verification.

Ø Support M&E Officer to roll out the Monitoring in the field level. 


Job Requirements

At least Graduate from any reputed university or college preferably in psycology, social science or public health etc.


Experience:

-         At least 2 years of working experience in need assessment, data collection implemented of humanitarian projects by local or International Organization.

-         Experience in community mobilization considering the local context.

-         Experience in Emergency response

-         Experience in work with Internal displaced people

-         Have already participated to assessment, monitoring and sensitization distribution activities.

-         Experience in Mobile data collection will be an added value.

-         Working experience in WASH sector (specially Emergency WASH implementation)

-         Knowledge on Emergency Protection for disaster or conflict induced vulnerable people

-         Experience of protection will be an asset.


Languages:

Fluent in Dari (written, spoken, read). Fluent in Pashto (written, spoken, read), Basic English.
