Job Summary

The Website manager will work closely with IT Department Manager and other members to develop a SMS Plan to ensure that the clients of Pajhwok will reach the daily updated new through their mobile and also reach to access the Pajhwok news contents by Pajhwok Mobile APP. The Web manager will report to CAO on day-to-day basis and to the SMS Pajhwok alert service and Mobile App of Pajhwok and specific duties include.

Duties & Responsibilities

Campaign plan and implementation:

Lead development of Pajhwok Afghan News SMS alert service a campaign plan to raise subscribers and public awareness.

Lead, manage, monitor and evaluate the SMS content and service for three languages (Dari, Pashto and English) I.

Develop a comprehensive plan on expanding the Pajhwok SMS alert services based on quality and standard professional news alert for increasing the subscriber day by day.

Supervise and control all staff of SMS service and motivate them for good performance to achieve the Pajhwok Afghan News Goal and objective through professional manner.
Public relations and coordination:

Develop a contact database for Pajhwok Afghan News SMS alert and keep it up to date.

Organize events with media including press conferences, media gatherings, roundtables, interviews, and meetings for introducing the role and facilities of SMS service for receiving update news around the country.

Monitoring the SMS service based on SWOT analysis tool and make recommendation for improved the SMS service for satisfaction of readers.
Website, print, and social media:

Prepare a plan to develop and use website and social media as a channel to communicate messages to the public.

Support and promote Pajhwok social media pages for Pajhwok Afghan News by regular promotional campaign.

Prepare communication material including brochures, posters, and other material to ensure presence of the commission and to raise public awareness about its work.
Capacity building and mentoring:

Build the capacity of Pajhwok Afghan News SMS service unit member on good and professional performances.

Publicize the Pajhwok Afghan News SMS service through Public events, seminars and gathering.

Contribute to organizing training workshops and events by leading training sessions to various stakeholders on outreach matters on access to the Pajhwok news alert service through SMS on their mobiles.

Job Requirements

Education


Bachelor’s degree, preferably master’s degree, in communication, social sciences, or business administration;

Experience:


At least 3 to 5 years of work experience in the field of communication and SMS alert service

Practical experience in developing messages, using various channels and tools, and key individuals.

Languages:
 Working knowledge (in writing and orally) of English, Dari and Pashto.

Required Attributes : Must love humanity and people. Be social, approachable and sensitive to people’s culture, needs, disabilities and preferences
