EDC (Education Development Center), Multi Location
The Curriculum Development Specialist will report to the Workforce Skills and Employment Opportunities (WSEO) Curriculum Development and Training Coordinator and will mainly be responsible to conduct research and improve training packages, develops vocational training curriculum and other related topics.
• Identify the most appropriate curriculum for basic education, vocational training and other related topics
• Assembles resources from different stakeholder sectors for TVET Curriculum Development
• Develops TVET curriculum for use in STAY Positive
• Prepares general standards and criteria for compiling curriculum for use in STAY positive
• adapt and improve training packages for basic education, vocational training and other related topics, by collecting and developing the training materials on different topics including case studies and success stories
• Creates a training guide for each of the training packages
• Assures training packages/materials are designed to support at-risk youth ages 14 to 25 and local labor market demands
• Reviews and revises program content based on feedback from students, faculty and employers
• Prepares guidelines on style and procedures of writing training packages and materials
• Edits training materials from linguistic standards and style of writing
• Establishes a system to monitor and evaluate all curricula
• Perform other duties as required.
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science or other relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in curriculum development, syllabai and course materials design and teaching aids, preferably related to technical and vocational education and training..
• Experience in donor-funded programs preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Dari and Pashto.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in teams and independently with minimum supervision.
