The Zone Finance Officer makes sure the company runs efficiently, that our public records are kept accurately, and our taxes paid properly and on time. They analyze and communicate financial information internally as well as to other companies, individual clients, and the US and Afghan governments. Beyond carrying out the fundamental tasks of the occupation—preparing, analyzing, and verifying financial documents in order to provide information to clients—the Zone Finance officer also offers budget analysis, financial and investment planning, information technology consulting, and limited legal services.
Job duties include the four major fields of accounting and auditing: public, management, government accounting, and internal auditing.
• Administer zone financial activity and staff
• Maintenance of Petty Cash;
• Maintain the security of the cash.
• Preparation of Bank reconciliation statements for the concerned banks and submission thereof to Finance Manager for checking;
• Entering Petty Cash Transactions into Petty Cash Ledger and Projects ledgers
• Preparation of and updating daily bookkeeping in accordance with the guidelines set forth in this manual Excel data base for project ledgers
• Preparation of Estimation report of project expenses to Main Office for fund request
• Preparation of day to day CP’s and BP’s Vouchers relating to Over Head and Project expenses and ensures appropriate entry in to Excel data base.
• Update Finance processes and procedures making best use of automation tools
• Coordinate Contracts Department activity to meet financial reporting deadlines
• Approval of A/P and invoicing
• Approval of new order processing forms for codes
• Review contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition and invoicing set-up with Contracts Group
• Assist with annual internal audit program
• Interaction with senior Ti managers as needed
• Variance analysis
• Financial liaison with foreign parent corporation
• Manage annual Zone budget preparation and coordination
• Monthly reconciliation of documents with Head Office.
Knowledge Skills, work experience and Abilities:
Minimum experience: 3 years
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to use software packages to automate the Accounting and financial reporting process
Ability to successfully perform under strict deadlines and with minimal supervision
Ability to work well under pressure
