The Yalda Hakim Foundation Scholarship Application

Selection Criteria

Young women from across Afghanistan aged 22 and under; or high school graduates as of 2014-2019

Current students of American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) are not eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is only available to young women entering AUAF as first year undergraduate students. 

Academic and Exam Requirements;

High School Graduates (Graduation year of 2014-2019)

TOFEL exam results: score of 510 or above; TOEFL Test administered in Kabul and regionally: 510 or above scores of PBT; 61 or above scores of IBT; 6 or above scores of IELTS. (iBT and ILETS scores are accepted upon presentation of an official score report from an accredited center).

Kankor Exam Score (Optional if scores are available)

Essay Requirement;

In no more than 500 words tell us about yourself and why you should be selected for the scholarship. 

Other Requirements;

Must be a citizen of Afghanistan

Have lived in Afghanistan for the last 5 consecutive years Must demonstrate substantial financial need Proof of Identification (Tazkira, Passport) 

All applications must be submitted through website's Scholarship Application Page. 

Incomplete applications, missing requested information and/or documents will not be accepted. 

Application submission deadline is April 30, 2019. After your completed application has been submitted and reviewed, you may be invited for an interview. Selected candidates will be contacted by May 30, 2019.
