Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

The Community Mobilizer is responsible for community mobilization of the projects and is responsible for working under Project Coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Mobilize the community and beneficiaries and provide them with awareness regarding the project activities.
• Support the team in planning and organizing community awareness, campaigns, behavior change communication and community mobilization sessions.
• Engage and mobilize community members in one to one and group sessions.
• Work closely with the community elders and CDCs in selecting the target communities.
• Help in finding Pregnant and lactating women in target areas of the project.
• Conduct awareness training and conduct information campaigns on the field according to the communities’ knowledge levels.
• Prepare work plan, schedules, and report for all activities.
• Coordination with local authorities, and community leaders as well as faith leaders.
• Any other official related tasks may be assigned to him.

Job Requirements

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in social science, Economics, Agriculture, and another relevant field.
• Experience:
• 2-3 years of relevant experience of working in the community (Social Mobilizing, Community Mobilizing, Social Organizer, Community Facilitator etc).
• Relevant work experience in Emergency Programs would be a plus.
