Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.
The Teaching Affairs Intern will support the Faculty of Engineering by assisting in the coordination of teaching-related tasks, academic planning, and instructional support services. This internship provides valuable experience in academic administration and insight into engineering education processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in organizing class schedules, room bookings, and lab sessions for various engineering departments.
Support faculty with the preparation, editing, and distribution of course materials and syllabi.
Coordinate teaching-related communications between faculty members, students, and administration.
Help monitor and record student attendance and assessment submissions.
Assist in managing Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) by uploading materials and maintaining course sites.
Provide administrative support during exams, including preparation of papers, invigilation, and logistical arrangements.
Collect and compile teaching feedback from students and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with academic events such as seminars, guest lectures, and project presentations.
Maintain records and files related to teaching quality assurance and accreditation.
