Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.
The Teaching Affairs Intern will support the Journalism Faculty by assisting in the organization, coordination, and administration of teaching-related activities. This role provides hands-on experience in academic support services and insight into journalism education within a higher education environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in organizing class schedules, newsroom training sessions, and multimedia workshops.
Support faculty in preparing and distributing course syllabi, reading materials, and assignments.
Coordinate communications between faculty, students, and academic departments.
Help manage and update content on learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas).
Assist with classroom logistics, including booking facilities and arranging equipment for media production.
Provide administrative support during assessments, presentations, and exams.
Collect and organize student feedback on teaching quality and course content.
Support the planning and execution of academic events, such as guest lectures by industry professionals or student exhibitions.
Maintain accurate records for course tracking, grading submissions, and attendance.

Gain practical experience in the academic operations of a journalism faculty.
Understand the structure of journalism education and newsroom training in academia.
Build administrative and communication skills relevant to educational and media organizations.
