Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

The Nurse Intern will work under the supervision of experienced Nurses and undertakes the following duties:

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, feeding, and mobilizing patients.
• Provide support in monitoring vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) and report abnormalities.
• Help with patient hygiene, wound care, and basic medical procedures.
• Assist nurses and doctors in examinations, treatments, and emergency procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize medical instruments under supervision.
• Administer medications (oral, IM, IV) as directed by supervising nurses.
• Monitor critically ill patients and assist with life-support equipment.
• Document patient conditions and report changes immediately.
• Assist in intubation, suctioning, and ventilator management under guidance.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charts.
• Follow infection control protocols and hospital safety guidelines.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards in patient care.
• Work closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Education: Graduated from a recognized university or medical institute between 2020 and 2025 with a diploma or bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Experience: Fresh Graduated with no work experience

• Skills:
• Basic knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care.
• Ability to work in high-stress environments (especially for ICU).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Capable of standing for long hours and lifting patients when needed.
• Proficiency in Dari/Pashto; basic English is a plus.
