It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

Responsibilities are:

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Medication Dispensing

•                    Assist to accurately prepare and dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring correct dosage, formulation, and instructions.

•                    Help to verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness, checking for potential drug interactions or contraindications.

•                    Learn and practice medication counseling to patients, explaining how to use medications properly and discussing possible side effects.

 

2. Prescription and Medication Records

•                    Learn and practice accurately document patient prescriptions, including medication details, dosage, and instructions in the pharmacy records system.

•                    Assist to ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

•                    Assist in maintaining and organizing patient medication profiles.

 

4. Patient Education

•                    Provide patients with information on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and precautions.

 

5. Quality Assurance and Safety

•                    Assist to monitor and ensure adherence to pharmacy safety standards and infection control protocols.

 

7. Administrative Support

•                    Assist with the organization and maintenance of pharmacy files, records, and documents. 

Job Requirements

•                    Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. 2024 graduated

•                    Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English is an advantage.

•                    Knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, drug interactions, and patient counseling.

•                    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
