BRAC is a nongovernmental development organization originated in Bangladesh and currently working in 10 countries in Asia and Africa. BRAC began its operation in Afghanistan in 2002, has been implementing its development programs in education, health, citizens’ charter Afghanistan programme as well as capacity development in the country.
The Provincial Manager is responsible for implementing the project activities such as establishing a community-based school, coordination with PED, DED, and other education stakeholders at the provincial, level following up the training for targeted beneficiaries, enhancing staff capacity, community mobilization, teaching and managerial skill development for CBE and ALP school teachers, and support AGE students to receive primary level of education.
Implement the AGE project at the district/ provincial level and execute the planned activities according to the approved framework and milestones. Representing the organization to external stakeholders. Take necessary steps for enhancing staff capacity in order to ensure the quality of activities to fulfill the targets (CBE and ALP schools).
Supervise the staff performance and schooling activities in the schools in the field level.
Take initiatives to establish effective communication with provincial stakeholders for instance PED, Provincial Governor, Economic Director, other GOs, and other NGOs with regards to the project activities.
Solve the problems related to the AGE operation and other tasks through mobilizing communities, government bodies, and BRAC employees.
Prepare quarterly and yearly reports to the provincial education and provincial economic department.
Ensure procurement, preservation, and distribution of the materials according to the BRAC procurement policy and procedures.
Prepare a monthly action plan to carry out the program activities according to the approved annual work plan.
Resolve of the social problem related to school operations in consultation with community people, concerned government departments, and BRAC Officials.
Prepare reports and submit it to the concerned department timely and regular.
Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the program by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Responsible for ensuring team members are appropriately trained, supported, and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so
At least 2 years of working experience in education sectors in renowned national NGOs and at least 01-year experience at the Managerial level
Skill in project planning, implementing and budget and financial management Computer knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel and PowerPoint, E-mail in internet browsing Has strong team management skill Has knowledge of community mobilization activities
Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
