Job Summary

The Regional Coordinator, under the direct supervision of Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the UN-Women funded ASPIRE /Women Economic empowerment project in Nangarhar and Laghman province. S/He will be responsible to support to program team in the field in the planning of program strategies; program management, monitoring and delivery of results; Technical and operational support to project team in the implementation; Networking and partnership building with project stakeholders at regional and provincial levels; coordination and collaboration with relevant government directorates and CSOs in the region. The position holder will be responsible to ensure the project is implemented as per the project proposal and donor compliance. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overall responsible for ensuring the project facilitation in the east region 
  • Prepare the plan for performing the project deliverables as defined in Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).
  • Ensure all training to be conducted by the BRAC staffs for members, initiate staffs' capacity development, conducting sample basis monitoring of the project, supervise the fellow colleagues at their works, ensure the quality of assigned activities as defined in DIP
  • Procure goods and services as per request and House rent and handover of offices and residence building, Vehicle, fuel and water supply contract for official uses
  • Prepare reports and submit to the BRAC country office and Field Operations Manager on periodic basis, 
  • Collecting quotations for goods and services from different vendors as per required as per policy 
  • Check all kinds of documents for procuring and preparing work order as per BRAC procurement process.
  • Bill Management and ensure on time payment, following the BRAC Procurement procedure. 
  • Any other task given by the supervisor.
  • To reviewing the Bill Vouchers and checking bills with Supporting of documents and verify to have an approval before all kinds of payments or transactions.
  • Cooperate with relevant provincial government directorate, Keep communication with other line directorates, at regional, provincial and district level.
  • Provide supportive supervision to the all relevant field staff
  • Ensure sound financial management and minimize and mitigate risks 
  • Ensure timely procurement and process oriented procurements as per BRAC procurement policy and guidelines
  • Ensure quality monitoring of project activities in accordance to M&E SOPs and guidelines 
  • Ensure team building and staff capacity building initiatives are taken 
  • Coordinate any donor or stakeholder’s visits/monitoring visits at the provincial and district levels. 
  • Perform any other tasks to be assigned by the supervisor 
  • Maintain the office decorum considering BRAC values 
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Ensure capacity building of the local partner. 


Job Requirements

  • Interpersonal and managerial and conflict resolution skills.
  • Communication skills and knowledge of local communities.
  • Knowledge of English, Dari and Pashto Languages.
  • Negotiate skills in multicultural and multilingual environment
