Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.
To ensure timely completion of all Shelters and infrastructure with quality, attend all technical and shelters and WASH-related meetings at the district/Agency/field level and updating the concerned in the context, make work plans and identify measures for improvement, ensure quality in each aspect of work done by keeping record and maintaining discipline, This position is based in Ghor province and the incumbent will lead and manage the Shelter and Community Infrastructure for AHF/UNOCH funded project. Under the overall supervision and guidance of the incumbent, undertakes the following duties:

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Worldiwde's vision, mission and core values.
Essential:
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications (Bullet Points)
· Graduated from a recognized Engineering Faculty or equivalent Degree in Civil Engineering or Shelter and Community Infrastructure
· Prior successful experience implementing shelter projects with IRW is highly desirable.
· Preference will be given to candidates from Ghor province with relevant experience.
· At least 3-5 years of technical supervision implementing Shelter and Community Infrastructure-related interventions.
· Experience in capacity building and training of staff
· Experience in leading project staff, logistics, and admin Management
· High level of communication, interpersonal, representation, and negotiation skills
· Good understanding and programmatic experience on various cross-cutting issues such as gender, protection, and environment.
· Goal-oriented with the ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision.
· Experience in Shelter and NFI’s assessment methodologies
· Preference will be given to local candidates.
· Knowledge of safety and security measures.
Key Personal Qualities (Bullet Points)
· Have good communication skills and can effectively communicate with local communities.
· Can work in a stressful environment and can meet deadlines.
· Have time management skills.
Desirable:
· Relevant experience of working with humanitarian/development sector/INGOs
· Working knowledge of the regional languages of Afghanistan.
· English fluency, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the local language.
· Experience in staff supervision, teaching delivery, mobilization, teamwork, and reporting.
· Experience in implementing AHF/UNOCH-funded projects and familiarity with CHR region of Afghanistan.
