BRAC Afghanistan is seeking applications from highly qualified and experienced Afghan Nationals for an anticipated project (Phase 2 of ABADEI) for the following positions based in 14 provinces (Kabul, Bamyan, Daikondi, Ghor, Badghis, Herat, Farah, Balkh, Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pol, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kunduz and Takhar).
She/he will support team to work effectively to bring changes in livelihood status and support team in developing vocational and entrepreneurial skills, adapting to the needs of the local markets, and supporting business incubation, particularly targeting women and youth. He/ She ensures transparency in grant or input support participants to facilitate the opening of businesses or entering wage or self-employment and he work on organising women-only market days to facilitate women-led/managed businesses, and rehabilitate market infrastructure to support women entrepreneurs. Identify value chain opportunities, notably by mapping and evaluating existing supply chains, and recommend additional priority opportunities for value chain development. Assist entrepreneurs and prospective.
investors by providing advices and technical support, including business case development, economic viability analysis, risk assessments and feasibility of value chain projects;
• Coordinate and strengthening the relation with relevant stakeholder (Govt institutions and NGOs) to support BRAC in strategic planning, policy and program implementation in selected areas
• Conduct researches, market improvements and monitors data collection
• Assists in the formation of value chain and networks, analyses collected information and prepare reports;
• Identify value chain opportunities, notably by mapping and evaluating existing supply chains, and recommend additional priority opportunities for value chain development;
• Outline value chain opportunities by developing project summaries and market analysis reports;
• Assist entrepreneurs and prospective investors by providing advices and technical support, including business case development, economic viability analysis, risk assessments and feasibility of value chain projects;
• Assist in the formation of value chain partnerships and networks, notably by assessing and reviewing existing value chain priorities, stakeholders and projects;
• Develop and maintain a database of companies and agencies involved in supply chains and value chain activities;
• Maintain close coordination/linkages with the relevant stakeholders on implementation of project value chain development activities;
• Draft framework agreements and manage linkages and coordination with main partners and stakeholders involved in value chain management;
• Support to identify in the target project areas, the final suite of training that will be offered to project participants.
• Work collaboratively with relevant staff from the project to identify priority activities in the agribusiness and value chain sectors;
• Performing any other activities as directed by the Project Manager;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and time management
• Fluency in English, Pashto and Dari, both written and spoken
• Familiar with report writing and planning
• Honest, proactive, and well mannered.
• Experience of working in teams and coordinating with project/Programme personnel located in provinces and Districts
• Must be a team player with initiative and demonstrated ability to work in a challenging work environment;
• Strong work ethic and the ability to interact well with stakeholders at various levels; and
• Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
